Immigration Law Clerks

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Under direction of Attorney the Immigration Law Clerk will: Assess immigration cases for filing with respective government agencies. Assist Attorney by investigating facts, researching legal precedent, and preparing legal documents. Perform in depth legal analysis of relevant immigration regulations and policies for Attorney to review. Use various research methods, including but not limited to the Immigration and Nationality Act; USCIS Policy Manual; and Department of State Foreign Affairs Manual (FAM) etc. Determine which applicable statute, law, and/or regulation applies to each issue or issues presented in the case for Attorney to review. Manage status of all filed applications and petitions. Utilize document and data management systems (EILA) to prepare, monitor, and record all aspects of client casework. Effectively communicate with clients regarding case status and missing document/information.

 Experience and Education include, but are not limited to:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) or in the alternative a Master of Laws (LL.M.), or foreign equivalent
